Asheville Newborn Photographer – FAQ’s for a Studio Newborn Session

I wanted to compile all of the frequently asked questions that I receive while parents are prepping for their studio newborn session. Anything that is not answered here we can talk through during the consultation and planning call, and as always, I’m only a phone call or text away. I love for my clients to reach out with questions, thoughts and / or ideas!

What should I bring the session?

The main items to bring are wipes, diapers, pacifiers, and bottles / formula; Clothing you and your partner will be photographed in (if you do not wear it to the session); any special undergarments, a hair brush and of course anything you want to include in the phots! I will have everything for baby to wear during the session and all of the props we will use. The studio is also stocked with snacks, water and coffee!

What should baby wear to the session?

Baby should arrive in an easy to take off sleeper or onesie. I have wraps, outfits, headbands, hats and everything baby needs to wear for the session at the studio. If you have something special you would like for the baby to wear during the photo session please bring it with you.

What should we expect during the session?

The session will be laid back. You will be able to get comfy in the studio and relax. If older siblings are involved we will start with sibling and family photos so the siblings can leave with a parent if they do not want to stay at the studio the entire time. Once the family photos are done we will move into posed images of the baby. We will be on baby’s schedule… whatever baby needs we will stop and tend to his / her needs. If there are no older siblings to photograph we will let baby lead the way.

What happens after the session?

Two to three weeks after your session I will reach out to schedule your ordering consultation. We will choose a time to get back together and review your gallery of hand edited images. This will be your only time to review your images and choose what you would like to purchase in the form of wall art, albums, prints or digital files. I will have samples of everything so you can touch and see the quality. I will fulfill all items ordered and digital files purchased will be available that same day.
