North Carolina is set to start phase 1 re-opening next week which means our parks will reopen which means we can resume outdoor family sessions. I’m so happy I could squeal. I thought I would use this opportunity to talk about my favorite outdoor locations around Asheville to do photo sessions.
It’s probably a no brainer that this is my favorite location in Asheville. The Biltmore Estate is simply stunning and offers so much variety with beautiful architecture, flower gardens, a lake and river, walkways and sweeping mountain views. It is truly stunning all year. No pass to the Estate? No Problem! I am able to get families in for free after 5pm which is perfect during the warmer months when the sun sets later.
We live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country and to have the Blue Ridge Parkway in our back door is a photographer’s dream. There are so many stunning locations for photo sessions along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are locations 15 minutes from Asheville all the way to mountain tops an hour away. The images below were taken at Craggy Gardens 45 minutes from Asheville.
The Botanical Gardens at UNCA and the NC Arboretum make the perfect backdrop for photo sessions. There are trails, gardens, bridges, creek access, and grassy areas. Both of these locations are close to downtown Asheville and are extremely convenient. The images below were taken at the Botanical Gardens.
Carrier Park is minutes from Downtown and is a great place for photo sessions, especially lifestyle sessions. The winding trail, grassy areas , river views and wooden playground make for some awesome images.
I am excited to share with you a friend of mine who is a photographer in Minneapolis. She is talking all about choosing the best outfits for outdoor photo sessions.
