To children, the world is magical…colors are brighter, heights are higher and being pushed quickly through a grocery store parking lot while sitting in the cart might as well be a roller coaster at Disney World. The land of imagination and wonder that children live in is so precious and fleeting and once it is gone, it is gone. My children are currently in this amazing time of princesses, unicorns, mermaids and more. Each year I let them help me plan and execute a photoshoot for their birthdays and recently it sparked an idea of kid led photo sessions…Day Dream Sessions! Whatever the kid(s) can dream we will bring to life and capture their giant imaginations before they are gone.
These sessions are best for kids aged 3 (when those big imaginations begin) to about 9 years old. We will bring the child in during the planning phase to help bring their vision to life. Anything from princesses, to superheroes, mermaids to dinosaurs goes. I will spend some time getting to know your little one during our pre-planning phase and they will be involved in choosing a location, their outfit and any props needed.
For older kids (who are growing out of dress up and pretend play) we typically go off of their personality and personal style. Sometimes a simple dress at a grand location or a grand outfit at a simple location. Often times older ones will also center the shoot around their favorite activity such as ballet or softball. The possibilities are endless and are up to your little one. It is so much fun to see their little personalities come to life.
The Day Dream sessions require at $250 session fee to reserve your day and time. Included is a pre-shoot consultation and planning of the shoot, a one to one and half hour session at a location we choose together, access to my client closet, my props and an online gallery for viewing and choosing your images.
